Traditional EL Summer School Program

Who is the program for? English learners with beginning or intermediate English proficiency. 

 What is the program like? The EL Summer Program is inter-active and student-centered. We offer a unique program for elementary, middle and high school English Learners (ELs). 

Specific information for each program can be found below. All programs use academic content to advance English language proficiency, and reading and math skills. The program also includes a weekly field trip or guest speaker/performer to support the cultural orientation of our ELs.  


Where does the program take place? 

    Elementary Program: Beech Street Elementary School (for rising 1st graders - rising 5th graders) 

    Middle School Program: McLaughlin Middle School (rising 6th - rising 8th)

    High School Program: West High School (rising 9th - rising 11th)


 How long is the program? The program is four weeks. program runs four days a week, for four hours a day.

 Is there a cost to attend? The program is free. Breakfast and lunch and transportation are provided.
